Tutoring Program
What Is It?
At WordWise, students build strength and stamina as readers and writers. During a six week session, students will choose a project based on what they like and what skills they need to improve. Each session will include reading and writing drills, project work and homework.
Partners (2 – 3 students) – $30
Students learn well from each other.
In a partnership setting, students will have the opportunity to create a project together while they build skills and address state standards.
The students will create a project together but they will each do reading and writing separately.
Homework time will be limited.
Private Session – 1 on 1 – $50
A one on one session allows for the process to be tailored directly to the student.
Based on an initial assessment, students will decide their topic of study and how they will demonstrate knowledge (essay, presentation, video, project board etc) Together, we will create a plan.
There will be time to practice skills, create this project and do homework during the tutoring sessions.
Small Group (4 – 6 students) – $20
Collaboration is important in today’s workplaces.
With collaborative tutoring, students work together to complete a project. They will be assigned roles, give feedback and take criticism as they build their reading comprehension and fluency along with their vocabulary and grammar skills.
Participants should consider the student’s ability to work with others when considering this option.
